Training weapon
In many fields — such as self-defense, martial arts, etc. — you will have the opportunity to use weapons. Unlike real ones, the weapons you will use are generally so-called training weapons. They are a faithful replica of the original, allowing the user to develop muscle memory in order to perform effectively when needed.
Training weapon: the art of the traditional Japanese sword
Mastering a sword is a lifelong training endeavor. It involves perpetual research in pursuit of a perfect art. In this practice, you will not necessarily need to use a real sword, but rather a training weapon such as:
- The training katana, which is an unsharpened samurai sword;
- The bokken, which is a wooden sword resembling a katana. It is used notably for aikido, kendo, kenjutsu, etc.;
- The iaito, which is a modern training sword with no edge.
Training weapon: martial arts
Martial art defines a style or school that generally teaches combat techniques, barehanded or with a weapon. This practice also touches on a spiritual and moral dimension, the objective of which is self-mastery and the broadening of knowledge.
Martial arts are notably an excellent training for:
- Full body workout;
- Self-defense;
- To reinforce discipline;
- To build self-confidence;
- Etc.
In the case of a martial art requiring a weapon, you will need a specific training weapon depending on the discipline practiced, in particular:
- The wooden sword or saber;
- The wooden or foam fighting staff;
- The training knife;
- The training shield;
- The nunchaku;
- etc.
