Defense stun guns
A stun gun takes the form of a handheld box, a flashlight-style tube, or a flat model that slips into a pocket. Lengths range from 10 to 25 cm with weights of 100 to 300 g. The casing combines reinforced ABS polymer with rubberized non-slip inserts, while the electrodes and side strips are made of stainless steel. A cap protects the contacts during transport.
Power, controls, and maintenance
Most models include a rechargeable lithium-ion accumulator charged via USB port or retractable pins, with an LED charge indicator; older versions run on a 9 V battery. Many integrate an LED light and a dual-control system — safety slider then button — which prevents accidental activation. The form factor determines carry method: nylon belt-loop holster, rigid clip, or wrist strap. Maintenance consists of wiping the electrodes, keeping the contacts dry, and recharging the accumulator every two to three months. These devices fall under electronic personal defense.
