Mounts, Remote Switches

Mounts and remote switches

The mounting determines the actual position of a light: clamping ring sized to the body diameter (typically 20 to 27 mm), Picatinny rail base, handlebar mount, helmet mount, or bag clamp. Holding strength depends on the clamping torque, the material (machined aluminum or reinforced polymer), and a rubber gasket that absorbs vibrations without marking the tube.

Remote switches and compatibility

A remote switch brings the control under the thumb via a soft push button connected to the tail cap. Two functions stand out: momentary press for brief illumination, constant lock-on for extended use. The cable is secured with hook-and-loop tape or an adhesive plate, and its length should remain short to avoid snagging. First check the tail cap thread and body diameter; the compatible models are listed in the lights and portable lighting section.
