Choosing your crossbow

Power, expressed in pounds, determines bolt speed and effective shooting distance. A classic recurve bow remains simple and reliable; a compound pulley system delivers more power for the same cocking effort. Check the availability of crossbow bolts in the right length and weight, as well as spare strings.
