Spotting scopes

The spotting scope takes over from binoculars when the distance increases: identifying an animal several hundred meters away, checking impacts on a target at the range, or studying a bird without disturbing it.

Choosing your spotting scope

The 20-60x zoom is the standard: 20x for scanning an area, 60x for detailed viewing. The objective diameter, from 60 to 85 mm, determines brightness at high magnifications. An angled 45° body offers more comfort during prolonged observation; a straight body makes quick targeting easier. At high magnification, a stable tripod is not optional: it determines image sharpness.
