Fallkniven DC4 Sharpening Stone: Precision and Efficiency

The Fallkniven DC4 sharpening stone combines a diamond surface and a ceramic surface, measuring 100x32 mm. The diamond side, with its 25 microns, effectively tackles dull blades. The ceramic side, at 15 microns, allows you to perfect the edge for a razor-sharp result. Using this stone requires neither oil nor water, thus simplifying the sharpening process.

Using the DC4 Sharpening Stone

A dull knife regains its edge by starting with the diamond side. Once the edge is sharpened, the ceramic side slightly deburrs for an optimal finish. The blade should be laid flat on the stone, then the back of the blade is raised to a height equivalent to its thickness. Circular motions ensure uniform sharpening.

Marker Technique

Coloring the edge with a marker allows you to track the sharpening progress. The areas where the color disappears indicate the parts already sharpened.

Sharpness Verification

The sharpness of the knife is verified by lightly pulling the blade across a fingernail. If the blade cuts, it is sharp enough for most tasks.

Using the Leather Back

The leather back of the stone serves as a stropping leather. Combined with the green polishing compound "Chrox," it refines blades for an exceptional edge.

Break-in Period
